IRONBBRATZ is a giant iron brat
To mark the first year of their existence, the ladies at IRONBBRATZ are hosting an art and music extravaganza at The Flying Duck. The event will celebrate the artists, designers and promoters who have helped IRONBBRATZ over the past year and will include some new supporters.
IRONBBRATZ exists to bring otherwise undetected creative practices to the art scene. They challenge perceptions of what is acceptable contemporary practice in Glasgow and work with: anonymous street artists, portrait painters, kinetic artists, screen printers, math rockers and promoters.
In the year since its foundation, arts-initiative IRONBBRATZ has run a series of diverse events aiming to provide professional experiences for creative practioners. They have hosted craft stalls, given their flats over to art, run pop-up galleries and created one-off art and music mash-ups.
Through these events IRONBBRATZ hope to produce a meritocratic way of looking at creative practices which generates opportunity for those involved to develop professionally. They do this by engaging with emergent practitioners in their studios to help them develop work and by working with promoters to enable them to realise ambitious projects which may be unfeasible in other circumstances.
